Natural horsemanship, weather training a horse or learning to ride, is learning to communicate to your horse through their natural instincts and ability without the use of pain or force. Learning to work with your horse, forming a reationship of ask and recieve is the goal of natural horsemanship. We achieve this with our horses by application of pressure, and the release of the pressure at the precise moment the horse gives the correct response. We here at Cheyenne Country work with both horses and riders using these simple concepts, creating a bond and balance like no other. Together we can achieve from the simplest to the most complex of riding skills with this simple method.
We would all like our horses to stand still while tied and saddled. Walk along side of us quietly when we are leading them. Go into the trailer when asked. When riding we'd like our horses to wait for our cues, and then pickup on what we've asked and execute it. In general, we'd like our horses to be respecful and responsive. We do this through safe, natural horsemanship training.
Let us help you build a safe, trusting foundation with your horse. Become confident and achieve your goals together with our help. We offer individual riding time, monthly training, clinics, private lessons and evaluations.
